The 1st time I visited Morro Bay, California I was amazed. Great waves, open beaches, no crowds, and miles of stunning beauty. It was November which comes with epic weather and surf conditions in California. After surfing in Southern California my entire life I felt a huge sigh of relief as I continued to visit this area to escape the crowds of SoCal. Water temps are similar to Santa Cruz and other Nor Cal surf breaks, but the congestion & over population is just not here. I was stunned with the miles and miles of rolling hills, open space and natural coast line. Cooler water temps are the price of admission for these benefits, but it is nothing that a 4/3mm wetsuit can't solve. Its worth the trade off trust me!
There is something so special about finishing up your surf and getting to cruise through an open countryside to go eat a post surf breakfast. With plenty of other afternoon options as well; shopping at local business in downtown SLO, taking a drive up the coast into the Big Sur region, or even just finding a quite place to rest for the afternoon. Taking a surf trip to this region of California is well worth it. Not to mention the number of farms, vinyards, and ranches, etc. you will not run out of things to do and healthy options to eat. So if escaping the hustle & bustle of modern life in the heavily populated metropolitan areas is something you are looking for then we are happy to be your guides.
